A tank containing cigarettes exploded at a Texas gas station last week, killing three people and injuring eight others, police said.
The explosion happened Friday at a gas station at the Chevron station at 12:30 a.m.
The station has about 600 customers.
Police said the gas station’s owner and four other people were arrested in connection with the incident.
The owner of the gas company, the Houston-based American Fuel Gas Company, said the company has a “zero tolerance policy” for cigarette burning and has “zero control” over the operation.
Police said a third person was taken into custody.
